Eikerenkoetter aka Reverend Ike as he dazzled a full house in Hamman Hall Friday with a discourse on his doctrine of the "Science of Living" and Green Power. In town this weekend for a g i a n t r e v i v a l Rev. Ike appeared on campus as a guest of Dr. Bill Martin of the sociology department. Martin met Rev. Ike ten years ago when he was still a fundamentalist evangelist in Boston and has followed his rise from a store-front church to a multimillion dollar enterprise. No longer does Rev. Ike tell flock to wait for salvation by and by, but rather they should seek their redemption now through self-mastery. "The science of self-awareness teaches the individual to establish a positive image of himself in his own mind," explains Rev. Ike. "It's only your opinion of yourself that really counts." Only by being master of oneself can someone be a master of things like money, assures Rev. Ike. Instead of a theology book, the Bible is a book of selfimage psychology. Quoting scripture, Rev. Ike noted that "as a man thinks, so he is." He also remarked that the Old Testament says "let the weak s a y I a m s t r o n g " — a n affirmation of his belief of the triumph of mind power. Rev.
